Who builds in Slatewood

Slatewood is built by Century Communities, one of the larger national homebuilders, and it's the sole builder across the community. That single-builder approach means a consistent set of finishes, floor plans, and warranty terms throughout the neighborhood, which makes it easier to compare homes apples-to-apples as you tour.

Century Communities also offers an industry-first online homebuying platform, which lets buyers move through much of the purchase process digitally. That can be a real convenience for out-of-state buyers, though we always recommend pairing it with your own buyer representation so someone is in your corner reviewing the contract, the build, and the pricing on your behalf.

Slatewood is all single-family new construction. Homes run from 3,066 to 3,864 square feet with four to five bedrooms, set on 0.34 to 0.49 acre lots. The majority of homes include a 3-car garage, which is part of why these sit on larger homesites than much of the area's newer inventory.

Inside, the homes come with kitchen islands, stainless steel appliances with gas cooking, tankless water heaters, smart home packages, electric fireplaces, and walk-in closets. Slatewood is designed around easy day-to-day living rather than a big amenity center. The community has sidewalks throughout and underground utilities, giving it a clean, walkable feel. A monthly HOA covers the shared upkeep that keeps the neighborhood looking consistent.

Where Slatewood really shines is its proximity to public green space. Residents are close to Barfield Crescent Park, which spans more than 430 acres, and the Stones River Greenway, a 17-mile trail system. Between the two, there's a lot of room nearby for walking, biking, and time outdoors without leaving the area.

Location, access & schools

Slatewood is located off Sulphur Springs Road in north Murfreesboro, with quick reach to I-840 and I-24, the two corridors most buyers use to get around Rutherford County and up toward Nashville. That highway access, combined with the nearby Barfield Crescent Park and Stones River Greenway, gives the community a balance of connectivity and open space.

Slatewood is zoned for Northfield Elementary, Siegel Middle School, and Siegel High School, all within Rutherford County Schools. School zoning can change, so we always recommend confirming current attendance boundaries directly with the district before you write an offer.
